Firmware 4.05 features hidden support for movie and TV service

While the official changelog of firmware 4.05 is underwhelming, it does feature a key hidden feature: support for movie and TV service. According to this support page on PlayStation.com, "Support for PLAYSTATION(R)Store Movies and TV video service" has also been added in firmware 4.05. Undoubtedly, we're going to find out more about this service during tomorrow's E3 conference.

Go! View launched in UK & Ireland

Sony has just launched the European-exclusive video-on-demand service, Go!View, in the UK and Ireland. The service allows patrons to download content from the Go!View website onto their PC and transfer those programs onto their PSP.

Content ranges from such companies as: Disney-ABC-ESPN Television, BBC Worldwide, Sony Pictures Television International, NBC Universal International Television Distribution, National Geographic and Sky Sports. Some noteworthy shows are Lost, Desperate Housewives, Doctor Who, Top Gear, FA Premier League, and tons of movies have all been mentioned.

Comedy, Sport, and Entertainment Packs are available by monthly subscription, while movies and TV series can be transferred via the rental service. Subscription packs are priced at £5 (€7) for one pack, £8 (€11) for two packs, and £10 (€14) for all three packs. Users can try out all three packs free for a month. Rental TV is available for £1.50 (€2.00) per episode while movies are available for £2.50 (€3.20) each. Head on over to the website to get started.

Sing along with the Fate/Tiger Colosseum Upper trailer

There are only a few certainties in life. One of them is that an anime fighter will get a sequel, especially if its on PSP. Capcom's super-deformed fighter based on the Fate/Tiger series is going UP in this sequel. Expect just as much crazy fighting as the original, and maybe some fan-service (considering the franchise's origins ... ). Will this game (and its prequel) ever come out to the US?

LocoRoco 2 official site opens, includes screens

The official Japanese LocoRoco 2 site has opened, and it includes the very first screenshots of the recently announced sequel. Unsurprisingly, the new LocoRoco looks exactly like the original. For those that were captivated by the charming style of the first game, that's far from a bad thing. Those that play close attention will see some of the LocoRoco's abilities (like swimming, pictured above). Stay tuned, because a game as big as this one will obviously garner a lot of attention.

This week's PC Store update is mildly amusing

This week's PC Store update has only one item: a SOCOM Confrontation trailer. That's a trailer for a PS3 game, just in case you PSP-faithful haven't been following news regarding "the big one" out of Sony's gaming brands. That's pretty much it for this week. Hopefully with E3 coming, there will be more goodies in the following week(s).
